Srinagar, March 30 (KNO) : The state of Jammu and Kashmir will seize to be part of Union of India if Article 370 is scrapped, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti said on Saturday. According to KNO correspondent, Mufti said that it is only by virtue of Article 370 that laws of India are implemented in J&K and any tampering with it will have grave ramifications. “If you break that bridge (Art 370)...then you will have to renegotiate relationship between India and Jammu & Kashmir,” she said. Mufti told workers that it is feared, in a changed scenario Muslim majority state will take a relook over the relationship. According to PDP President, new conditions would be negotiated between India and J&K. "People would be forced to even think whether they want to join India or not," Taking a dig at Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley's comments over special status to the state she said that in such an atmosphere she asked, 'would Muslim majority state even want to be your part'. “A Muslim majority state, would it even want to stay with you?” asked the former J&K chief minister. Jaitley had said that Article 35A is “constitutionally vulnerable” and is an impediment to the economic development of Jammu and Kashmir.(KNO)
